Back in the Bay Again

I cannot believe that so much time has passed since the last posting. My apologies, but truly life has not been terribly exciting, mainly just routine daily living stuff. Most important is that we are now done with all our repairs!!!!! Eagle is back out in the anchorage in La Cruz and we are getting our sea legs back which means more muscles are working to keep us upright and therefore sore. It is so nice to be back out in the bay where it is much more quiet and mesmerizing. The little fish swim around our boat trying to escape the diving pelicans,terns, and gulls. I swear one of the pelicans must have hit the hull yesterday. It was an unusually loud dive. At night we are treated to the lights around the bay and the phosphoresence in the water as the fish flip around. Also flushing the head at night is a light show. Hope that isn't TMI.

Phileta and I have decided to stay here in Mexico for the year. There is so much we haven't seen yet. We need to do more exploring here before we head off to the South Pacific although reading friends blogs who have arrived there does pull on the heart strings. There is just so much to do in life, I just have to keep my focus or I'll drive myself bonkers. And there are a lot of nice people that we have met that will be going on up the Sea of Cortez as we plan to.

We've been seeing an incredible chiropractor in Bucerias. His office is in the Mega (a big store like a WalMart). His name is Dennis Brittain and he is from Newport, OR. He and his wife are cruisers, work here during the high season, then take off cruising on the off season. He is like no other chiropractor we've ever been to. Costs for care here are very reasonable. I guess I'd best not get started on not being able to afford health care in the US.

The other exciting news is that we are both going to be able to go to Matt's graduation from Univ of Puget Sound!! Being able to see Matt, Zak, Lynn & Dave at the graduation is a bonus. Plus our friend Kendall is going to meet us in Portland for the few days we will be there. Maybe Frann too? We took care of another couple's cat (Ginger) and they have agreed to take care of Josie for us. Not that a cat that stays undercover most of the day needs much care, but her litter box does need to be tended too. Josie is finally becoming a cat. She ate her first can of cat food - guess since she cannot get fresh caught food anymore it is more appealing. She is also beginning to play. Ginger had a laser (?) light that she chased and her owners brought one to Josie when they returned. She loves chasing it. Hasn't run up the companion way as yet, but is up over the setees.

The wind picks up every afternoon making for a lively time in the anchorage and great sailing. We are enjoying our little outings getting to know Eagle all over again. We're working on getting the camera working again so we can post more pictures of the are, especially the iguanas in the trees and captain Josie.
